Samuel Blick

Services will be held 11AM Thursday at Christ's Church in Boardman for Samuel "Ron" Blick who passed away Saturday. The son of Samuel Blick and Catherine Valentine, Samuel was born October 18, 1935 in Youngstown, OH. He was a graduate of South High School and had served in the United States Army. On September 7, 1963 he married his wife Barbara, with whom she spent 48 years of marriage. Samuel worked as an estimator and computer programmer for the Wean United Company until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of several organizations including the Scottish Right, the Knights Templar, and the Western Star Masonic Lodge with whom he was a Past Master. Samuel was also heavily involved with Christ's Church in Boardman. There he had served as the former president of the Men's Club, and was a deacon and usher. He will be sadly missed by his wife Barbara, his two sons Ron Blick, and James(Shelly) Blick, and his daughter Lori(Skip) Vestal. He is also survived by one sister Judith Pezzano and six grandchildren George, Ashley, Amanda, Cody, Jacob and Lucas. Samuel is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call Wednesday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Lane Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel and Thursday from 10am-11am at Christ's Church in Boardman. A Masonic service will also be held at 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Samuel's name to Christ's Church, 7155 Glenwood Ave, Boardman Ohio 44512.
