Samuel Lawson Bowser

Austintown- Private services will be held Wednesday at Green Haven Cemetery for Samuel L. Bowser, age 90 of Austintown who died early Saturday morning in Omni Manor. Sam was born March 28, 1916 in Sandoval, Illinois and was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Aubaugh) Bowser. He retired in 1969 from L.T.V. Steel in Niles. He had been a Mason since 1942 belonging to #427 Masonic Lodge in Apollo, Pa. and was a member of the Shrine Club in Greenville, SC. Sam also belonged to the Moose Lodge in Warren and was a social member of the American Legion in Niles. Sam leaves his wife, the former Leila Mae Abbott whom he married July 12, 1971. He also leaves a son Richard Bowser of Ocala, FL., three step-daughters, Marge (Jeff) Plant of Niles, Sally (Ron) Jackson of Austintown, Judy (Dan) Heiple of Anderson, SC, a sister Margaret (Richard) Swauger of Hudson, FL, a brother Robert (Opal) Bowser of Sandoval, IL and numerous grandchildren, gr. grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. The family reqeusts that material contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3695 Boardman-Canfield Rd., Canfield, OH 44406. Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel in charge of arrangements.
