Sanford Lynn Harding

Sanford Lynn Harding, 73 of Warren, died Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2015, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born September 19, 1941 in Martins Ferry, Ohio the son of the late Harry and Ruth Smith Harding. Lynn was raised in Yorkville, Ohio and was a 1959 graduate of Yorkville High School. He worked for many years at Van Huffel Tube in Warren and retired in 1998 from Delphi Packard Electric where he worked as an electrician. He had worked many years part time as a greenskeeper at the Trumbull Country Club. Lynn loved horseracing and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and bowled on area leagues. He loved watching western movies and T.V. shows and enjoyed playing Euchre and gardening. Lynn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Opal M. Hanson Harding, whom he married April 21, 1961; two daughters, Cheryl (John) Hostler of Kent and Roberta "Bobbie" (Greg) Hazy of Warren; one son, Samuel L. (Mary) Harding of Warren; six grandchildren, Shawn and Carly Hostler, Caleigh and Christopher Harding and Nicolas and Madison Hazy and one sister, Eudora "Doedee" (Guido) Magnone of Steubenville. Six brothers and sisters, Charles Wesley Harding, Ida Mae Nally, Donna Fae Caton, Bonna Fae Henderson, Harry Edward Harding and Ruth Regina Calabria all have preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2014 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, with Pastor Bill Sprague officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
