There will be a memorial service at a later date for Sara A. Graves of Austintown, who passed away Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a few years of declining health. She was born September 10, 1931 in Valdese, NC a daughter of the late Samuel and Annie (Ensley) Hyler. Sara had owned and operated her own restaurant in New York and later was a waitress for many years. She was a member of Oakhill United Methodist Church in Morganton, NC, and worked on airplanes during WWII. She was an avid quilter and embroiderer, very interested in her Cherokee Indian Heritage, and enjoyed having large family gatherings. Her husband of over 30 years, Fred C. Graves, precedes her in death. Sara is survived by six children: Kathy (Mike Yates) Burke of Austintown, Skip (Cheryl) Martin of Phoenix, AZ, Carl (Shoua) Graves of Morganton, NC, Roy (Joanne) Graves of Babylon, NY, Donald Graves of Livonia, MI, and Carol (Fred) Entress of Jupiter, FL; two sisters: Martha Hyler of Morganton, NC, and Becky McKinney, of Interlaken, FL; fifteen loved grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and too many friends across the country to mention. Besides her parents and husband, Sara is preceded in death by a brother Junior Hyler. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
