Sara K. Abel, 63, of Warren died 1:51 AM Tuesday Dec.9, 2008 at St. Josephs Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec.22, 1944 in Cumberland, MD the daughter of Curtis Jackson and Virginia Catherine (White) Bloss. A Warren area resident since the age of nine, Sara attended Warren Schools and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1962. She was a caring homemaker and enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking. She liked to play scrabble and especially spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and formerly volunteered for the Warren Western Reserve Band Boosters. Sara loved animals and cared for many pets that her family brought home over the years. She will be missed by her husband of 44 years Richard W. "Oil Can" Abel whom she married May 29, 1964, daughters Tammy L. (Randall) Loudon of Warren, Cynthia M. (Mark) Derthick of Newton Falls, and son Scott W. (Michele) Abel of Warren. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Megan M. and Dylan J. Derthick of Newton Falls, Riley Loudon of Warren, brothers Curtis "Jack" Bloss of Warren, Frederick Bloss of Missouri, a sister Sue (David) Musgrove of Arizona, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and Chloe the cat. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a memorial service 5:00 PM Friday Dec.12, 2008 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Gordon J. Ferguson will officiate. Sara will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Crown Hill Burial Park.
