Sarah Anetta Strickling

Sarah Anetta Strickling age 96 Niles- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Ausitntown Chapel for Sarah A. Strickling formerly of Akron, who passed away on Saturday at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. Sarah was born December 25, 1906 in Niles the daughter of Frank L. and Ina May (Prather) Shively. A basketball player for the Firestone Company , she was a secretary at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 30 years retiring in 1954. She also worked at Packard Electric and was a member of the Eastern Star, Lordstown Lutheran Church, and loved to knit and crochet. Sarah leaves her sister Marie Paxson of Niles and a sister Esther Cook of Cincinnatti. Mrs. Strickling was preceded in death by her husband Charles whom she married in 1930 and passed away in 1985. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: George, Virgil, and Dale Shively. Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 AM, one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
