Scott Lewis

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Scott E. Lewis, 90 of Canfield who died November 21st, his wife Frances’ birthday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Scott was born April 30, 1921 in Akron, a son of the late Charles V. and Hazel S. Cummins Lewis. He served in the Army during World War II and after his discharge became a truck driver for Isaly Dairy , where he met his wife while delivering. He had worked at Fithian-Wilbert Burial Vaults for over 20 years , then became a bus driver for Ohio Valley and McCarter bus lines and retired from Mahoning County Schools where he had also driven bus. He was a longtime member of Canfield United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Christian Fellowship Class and had served as a trustee and usher. Scott was a member of the Canfield Ruritan Club, the Isaly Retiree Group , the Canfield Community Club and the Ellsworth VFW Post # 9571. His wife the former Frances Feenstra whom he married February 16, 1946, died March 9, 2010. He leaves his three children, Donna (Lynn) Pflug of Columbiana, Ray Lewis of Youngstown and Rick (Bonnie) Lewis of Austintown; 7 grandchildren, Greg, Scot, Melissa, Raymond, Dominic, Christopher, Ashley; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Besides his parents and his wife, Scott was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Roseann Lewis; 7 sisters, Mary, Beatrice, Margaret, Katherine, Vedna, Eleanor, Esther and 4 brothers, Richard, Thomas, George and John. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Lane funeral Home, Canfield Chapel. Burial will follow at Canfield Cemetery with military honors.
