Shannon D. Durig

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel for Shannon D. Durig, 79, of Lordstown who passed away Monday, July 11, at Laurie Ann Home Health Care Center. Shannon was born January 21, 1937 in New Martinsville, WV, the son of Paul and Leah (Lancaster) Durig and came to the area in 1938. He worked construction for Morain Construction Inc., and Chepke Excavating Inc. Shannon was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66 out of Pittsburg, PA since 1961. He leaves four children, Randall (Linda) Durig of Lake Milton, Denise (Don) Hromyak of Niles, Allyson (Frank) Howley of North Jackson, Wesley (Debbie) Durig of New Martinsville, WV, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves five sisters, Retta Glover of Meadville, PA, Patricia (John) McKenzie of Hubbard, Virginia (Dave) Harris of Mineral Ridge, Pamela (Jim) King of Cortland, and Janet (David) Decesare of Mineral Ridge, as well as one brother Carl (Verda) Durig of Mineral Ridge. Besides his parents, Shannon was preceded in death by one sister Margaret Moomau, and three brothers, Doyle, Thomas, and Charles Durig. Friends may call from 5 to 6 PM Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel where services will be held at 6 PM.
