Sophie Urban

Sophie Urban, 99, of Warren, passed away peacefully, February 23, 2013 at the Autumn Hills Care Center. Sophie was born September 15, 1913 in Wilmerding, PA, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Marich) Davidovich. On September 23, 1939 she married Edward T. Urban and had enjoyed 49 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on February 20, 1989. She was a homemaker all her life and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was an avid walker and enjoyed working in the yard, but above all she loved her family and the time spent with them. Sophie was a kind, gentle and caring lady and was loved by everyone she met. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown. Sophie is survived by her son, Thomas (Barbara) of Warren; two grandchildren, Julianne (Andrew) Bidinotto of North Richland Hills, TX and Brian Urban of Niles. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents and nine brothers and sisters in Serbia, the former Yugoslavia. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 PM, at the Lane Family Roberts-Clark Chapel 180 Garfield Dr. Warren. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at the Pineview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church 39 Laird Ave. Youngstown 44509 or to the charity of one's choice.
