Stanley E. Stacey Jr., 74, of Warren died Friday, August 11, 2006 at 12:30PM at his home after battling a long illness. Born September 8, 1931 in Beaver Co., PA, Stanley was the son of Stanley E. Stacey Sr. and Helen Wilczek Litrin. Moving to the Warren area as a small child, Stanley was a lifetime area resident and a 1949 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. A Veteran in the United States Army, he joined the military after high school and served as tank gunner on the front lines during the Korean Conflict. After an Honorable discharge from the Army, Stanley went to work at LTV (Republic Steel) where he worked in the furnace. He retired in 1994 after 36 years of service. He loved baseball and was an avid baseball fan. During his younger years, Stanley played ball for various teams in the warren area during the summers. He enjoyed bowling and fishing but most of all enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Stanley will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Mary Lou (Darak) Stacey whom he married August 27, 1956. Together they shared 49 years of marriage and four children and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary later this month. He is also survived by his son, Edward J. Stacey of Howland Twp., three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Dianne) Snell of Warren, Mrs. Rex (Christine) McElwain of Farmdale, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Burk also of Warren, and two grandchildren, Brittany McElwain and Ryan Burk. The Rev. John Rencewicz will conduct a private service for friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stanley’s memory to the American Lung Association at 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. #26 Independence, OH 44131-2340 or to MVI Hospice at 4891 Belmont Ave. Youngstown, OH 44505.
