Stephen A. Speece

Berlin Center-Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Berlin Center United Methodist Church for Stephen Speece who passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at his residence. Stephen was born August 15, 1950 in Youngstown the son of Lewis and Joyce (Moser) Speece. Stephen was Vice-President of Production for The Steel City Corporation. He was an active member of the church; he coached youth sports, and enjoyed outdoor activities and restoring old cars. He was a graduate of Western Reserve High School and The Ohio State University. Stephen is survived by his wife the former Dawn Smith whom he married September 22, 1974, and with whom he recently celebrated a 30th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his father, Lewis Speece Jr., three daughters, Stephanie (Tom) Taranto of Dublin, OH; Andrea of Berlin Center; Jaclyn of Columbus, and a son Matthew, of Columbus; brothers Lewis Speece III (Mary Beth Reynolds); Douglas (Pam) Speece and Bradley (Mary)Speece all of Berlin Center . He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce and sister in law Elaine. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 10-11 am Thursday at the church. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of donations to The War Veterans Museum in Canfield and the Berlin Center United Methodist Church.
