Susan Lynn Moody

Susan Lynn Moody, age 52 of Southington, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren of complications of a stroke. She was born September 7, 1960 in Athens, the daughter of the late Carl and Amy Jo Sanders Moody. She had been a Trumbull county resident since 1993. Susan was a 1978 graduate of Athens High School and graduated from Ohio University in 2001 with a bachelors of psychology. She worked in retail for several years with Murphy's Mart and K-Mart. Susan was an active member of Bolindale Christian Church, where she served as a liturgist, youth leader and had been a Sunday school teacher. She was active with the Disciples of Christ church as a youth camp counselor and leader at Camp Christian. She had worked with the youth at Millfield Christian Church near Athens, Ohio and, in Trumbull county, at Champion, Bolindale and Second Christian Churches. Susan loved her cats and enjoyed crafts, shopping, planning "Sue" parties and helping people. She was truly a "people person". She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Pastor Ray Allen Blasko, whom she married June 25, 1994; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Moody and Marie (Kenneth) Kearns both of Columbus and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Susan is also survived by several church "children" whom she and her husband, Ray, "adopted" over the years. Her two brothers, Jerry Lee Moody and James Gregory Moody have both preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren and also one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday at the Bolindale Christian Church. Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park mausoleum in Vienna.
