Tabor Kollat

Canfield- Funeral services will be held 8 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Tabor Kollat age 84 of 7999 Youngstown-Salem Rd. who died Thursday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Tabor was born July 7, 1921 in Youngstown and was the son of the late Frank and Julia (Lengyel) Kollat. He retired as a craneman in the mid 80’s from U.S. Steel after 39 years. He loved to golf and bowl and enjoyed gardening and was an avid organ player. His wife, the former Mary E. Jaworski whom he married Nov. 23, 1946 died Dec. 7, 1997. He is survived by five children, Nick (Mary Kay) Kollat of Canfield, Kathy Lanz of Columbus, Ken (Susan) Kollat of Willis, TX, James (Laura) Kollat of Canfield with whom he made his home, Dana (Sergio) Beyazian of Columbus, two brothers, Zoltan Kollat of N. Carolina, Paul Kollat of Canfield, six grandchildren; Shawn Kollat, Jeff Lanz, Danielle Lanz, Michelle Beyazian, Ashley Beyazian and Jason Kollat. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three sisters Irene Jonda, Betty Ferelli, Eleanor Morie and a brother Frank Kollat. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Monday evening.
