Thelma Marie Schmidt

Thelma Marie Schmidt, 89 of Warren and formerly of Southington, passed away Friday evening, September 18, 2009 at the Windsor House in Champion. Born February 23, 1920 in Warren, Thelma was the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Clegg) Lewis. She worked for Mavar's Golden Dawn Supermarket where she was the produce manager for 20 years and was also previously employed by Jensen's Florist in Warren. Thelma enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting and bowling. She and her husband enjoyed bowling on a couples' league for many years. She married Robert Henry Schmidt on July 28, 1936. Together they shared 51 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in January of 1998. Thelma will be dearly missed by her four children, Carol S. Bain and Phyllis J. Coburn both of Howland Twp., Karl R. (Patricia) Schmidt of Warren, and Tim L. (Helen) Schmidt of Lordstown, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Ann Craig Darr, and by a grandson Scott Coburn. A funeral service will be held Monday evening, September 21, 2009 at 7PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit for one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place in the Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Champion.
