A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown for Thomas F. "Murph" Cearfoss Jr., 80, of Austintown who passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Main Campus. Thomas was born July 18, 1935 in Youngstown, the son of the late Thomas F. Sr. and Garnet (Harris) Cearfoss. He was a graduate of Lowellville High School class of 1953. Thomas went on to serve our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired in 1995 as a foreman with Ohio Edison after 43 years of service. He was a member of the church and the Lowellville Seniors Group. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever he could. He also enjoyed gardening. Tom leaves his wife of 59 years, the former Angeline "Ange" Rossi, whom he married April 7, 1956, three daughters, Darlene Tatarka and her husband Jeff of Boardman, Jan Sammartino of Canfield, and Sandy Jo Spalla and her husband Joe of Canfield, four grandsons, Nicholas Tatarka and his wife Nikki of Middleboro, MA., Jonathan Tatarka of Cleveland, Stephan Sammartino IV of Cleveland, and Michael Sammartino of Canfield, as well as two great granddaughters, Evelyn and Vivian Tatarka of Middleboro, MA, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one brother Richard A. Cearfoss, and one sister Betty Jean Hall. Friends may call from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel.
