Thomas Murray

Thomas Ellsworth Murray, 78, of North Jackson, passed away, Thursday Aug. 1 2013, with his loving family by his side after a long struggle with Alzheimer. He was born Dec. 22, 1934, in Lordstown the son of Thomas and Gladys Murray. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired crane operator from Republic Steel, with over 40 years of service. He was a member of First Federated Church and attended Lake Milton Presbyterian Church with his daughter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, watching westerns, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his five daughters; Cynthia (David) Clegg, of Newton Falls, Melissa (James) Roberts, of N. Jackson, Shereen (Joseph) Mashorda, Austintown, Shelley (Erik) Derrow, N. Jackson, and Chardina (Frank) Mangino, of Poland, two sisters; Genevieve Milligan, of Lordstown, Marion Butcher, of Warren a brother, William Murray of Warren and ten grandchildren; Erin Clegg, Capt. Joshua (Stephanie) Clegg USAF, Jimmy and Ben Roberts, Chloe and Tommy Derrow, Marissa and Lexi Mangino, Connor and Cameron Mashorda and a great granddaughter; Sophia Joy Derrow. Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Joy, whom he married April 22, 1966, two brothers; Joseph and James and a sister; Mildred. Friends will be received from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at the Austintown Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Valley and St. Mary's Alzheimer Center of Columbiana for the care and compassion they gave Tom. Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Mary's Alzheimer Center of Columbiana in Thomas's name.
