Thomas P. Platek

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at the Canfield Christian Church for Thomas P. Platek of Canfield who passed away on Wednesday. Tom was born December 16, 1952 in Youngstown, the son of Stanley and Martha “Millie” (Cox) Platek. A graduate of Canfield High School, and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Tom was a long time employee at the Tippecanoe Country Club and was a member of the Canfield Christian Church where he sang in the choir. He was former member of the Canfield Ruritan. Tom’s generous spirit and ability to always help others made him a special person. He will be greatly missed by many family members, friends, and neighbors. Besides his father of Canfield, Tom is survived by his sister Carol (Jim) Swartz of San Martin, CA as well as a niece Jennifer Swartz of Santa Rosa, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1996. Friends and family may call from 6-8 PM on Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel as well as from 9-10 AM on Monday, one hour prior to the services at church.
