TONY T. BALESTRA, 93 BOARDMAN-There will be Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Ave. in Boardman for Tony T. Balestra, 93, who died late Friday afternoon. Tony was born June 3, 1922 in Youngstown, a son of Domenico and Adelina Agnillo Balestra. Tony was involved in sales and maintenance all of his working career. He was a graduate of East High School and served his country during WW ll as a member of the U. S. Navy. Tony was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Tony was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 213. Tony loved to golf and was a starter at Mill Creek Golf Course until 2012. He enjoyed all sports, especially football and he also enjoyed bowling. Tony is survived by his wife, the former Helen I. Summers, whom he married June 19, 1976; his son, Thomas (Ruth) Balestra of Alliance; his step-daughter, Joyce Joyce of Boardman, with whom he made his home; his step-son, Ronald Dean of Youngstown; his grandchildren, Thomas (Brandy) Balestra, Richard (Michelle) Balestra, Darren (Belinda) Joyce and Kelly Joyce Ball; his gr. grandchildren, Christopher, Meaghan and Gabriel Ball and Taylor, Kendra, Nicolas and Ryan Balestra and many nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Paula Arnal, his brothers, Louis, Joseph and Ralph Balestra and his sisters, Filomena Zarlenga, Concetta Altiere, Yolanda Tucci and Eleanor Granitto.
