Vivian O. Seigfried

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday at the Austintown Community Church for Vivian Seigfried who died Thursday morning at the Humility House. Mrs. Seigfried was born June 3, 1914 in Youngstown the daughter of George and Inez (Ong) Whetson. Mrs. Seigfried taught in the Austintown School system from 1935 to 1940. She was a member of the Austintown Community Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years, past President of the Woman’s Guild and was very active in the woman’s group of the church. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star #583, member of the Retired Teachers Association, member of the 3 Arts Club Youngstown area, graduate of Kent State University and served as a Hospital Volunteer for many years at South Side Hospital. Her son David J. and Pam of Austintown, three grandchildren Erin (Dennis) Pacholec, Kerri and Megan and her sister Verna Mae Deas of Austintown, survive her. Her husband John C. Seigfried whom she married in 1940 died in 1999, two brothers Lionel and Melford Whetson preceded her in death. Friends may call for one hour prior to services on Monday at the Church.
