Velma Davis Viars

Hubbard- Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Velma Viars of Hubbard who died Tuesday evening in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mrs. Viars was born August 10, 1916 in Youngstown the daughter of Harry Smith Davis and Anna Kroll Davis. Velma was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church, a graduate of Chaney High School, was self employed as a re-weaver and seamstress and was a fantastic gardener and cook. She is survived by her children; Ronald Viars of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Robert Viars of Brownsburg, IN., James Viars of Mena, AK., Kathleen Lempka of Hubbard, sisters; Joann Vitto and Isabel Esterley both of Youngstown, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Conley Viars whom she married January 2, 1937 died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Ann Poole and brother Ray Davis. Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
