Prayers will be 10:15 a, m Friday, April 27, 2012 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Catholic Church , Boardman for Velma I. Bryan, 83 of Boardman who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown. Velma was born November 5, 1928 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold Floyd and Helen Hunter Ritchey. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She loved to crochet and was an avid reader Velma also enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Leo F. Bryan whom she married August 26, 1944 died October 21, 2003. She leaves five daughters, Louise (Tom) Anderson of Youngstown, Barbara (James) Nunn of Westerville, Ohio, Linda Witzeman of Boardman, Nancy Holsinger of Youngstown, Mary (Roy) Anderson of Masury; four sons, Ken (Tina) Bryan of Canfield, Walter (Betty) Bryan of Columbus, Ronald Bryan of New Waterford, Dennis (Joyce) Bryan of Cortland ; two daughters-in-law, Karen Bryan of Youngstown, Mary Bryan of Boardman; two sisters, Lois (Edward) Butcher and Janet Borders, both of Salem; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, Velma was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Bryan and Joseph Bryan; a brother, David Ritchey and a granddaughter, Yasmin Bryan. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield.
