Veronica Popio

A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Veronica Popio of Canfield who passed away on Thursday morning at her home. Veronica was born June 24, 1913 in Youngstown the daughter of Peter and Veronica (Biroschick) Kaschak. She was a homemaker and had previously worked in the Ice Cream Department at the Isaly Dairy Company. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She leaves five children: James Popio of Tallmadge, OH, Joseph and Peter Popio both of Los Angeles, CA, William Popio of Mercer, PA, and Veronica Hunston of East Palestine, OH. She also leaves a sister Margaret Price of Columbus, OH, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Popio was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, whom she married October 16, 1937 and passed away on July 15, 2001. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters: Mary, Ann, Betty, Katie, Peter, Joseph, John, Michael, and George.
