Victoria List

Victoria "Vickie" Catherine List, age 91, of Bristolville, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. She was born on November 5, 1918, in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Michael Damukaitis and the late Eva Shereyka Damukaitis. Vickie was an active person. She assisted her husband, Dr. Ellis W. List in his medical practice in Bristolville and later became his caregiver. She enjoyed attending garage sales, baking pies for the Sheriff Deputies and crocheting. Vickie also loved animals and was known for rescuing them. She survived 32 years of cancer with her "iron will" that she was known for, along with her "feistiness". A grateful acknowledgement to her great niece, Janice (Tim) L. Everitt, who became her principal caretakers and also a special thanks to Catherine Trenn for being such a blessing to both Vickie and her family. Vickie's first husband, Frank William Seger preceded her in death in 1954. Her second husband, Dr. Ellis Worthington List preceded her in 1987. She is survived by a son, Frank R. Seger of Pensacola, and by five grandchildren, Renee Seger of Warren, James (Lisa) Seger of Warren, Christine Ward of Chardon, Thomas (Dawn) Seger of Hartgrove and William (Angela) Seger of Orwell. Also surviving are six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Seger, step-son, Ellis W. List Jr., step-daughter, Mary Ann Hammar, sister, Adele J. Matson, and three brothers, John, Joseph and William. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 11AM 12PM at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. Funeral service will be at 12PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the West Mecca Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local animal shelter.
