Austintown – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Joseph Church for Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Castronova, 65, of Austintown who passed away Friday evening, February 10, 2023, at her home after a long and courageous battle with T-Cell Lymphoma. Vicki was born June 22, 1957, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Morris and Carmel (Virgil) Ambrose. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a 1975 graduate of Ursuline High School and received a degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Kent State University. She enjoyed a long career as a physical therapist assistant working with various local organizations. In particular, she took great pride and joy working at Leonard Kirtz School with students in the classroom as well as during hippotherapy sessions.

Vicki was an active member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown. She practiced faithful service to the Lord by volunteering at church as a member of S.IS.T.E.R.S., C.C.D. catechist, pre-cana mentor, parish council member, and Parish school life.

Vicki enjoyed time spent gardening, exercising, and entertaining with her family and friends. As a proud Italian mother, she loved making Sunday dinners, especially for her grandchildren. She belonged to the Ursuline Mother House Book Club and recently completed Livestrong at the YMCA, an accomplishment she was particularly proud of.

Vicki leaves her husband Patrick Castronova, whom she married September 28, 1984, two sons, John P. (Kelly) Castronova, and David P. Castronova, three grandchildren, Ellie, Cora, and Noah, and one brother, Lenny (Lori) Ambrose all of Austintown. She also leaves her mother-in-law Anita Castronova of Canfield, and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents Morris and Carmel and her father-in- law Mike Castronova. Family and friends may call from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Joseph Church on New Road in Austintown followed by a mass at 10:30 AM.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, Leonard Kirtz School, and St. Joseph Church in Austintown, OH. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion in her final days.
