Violet (Berecek) Coe, 73, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died at her home in Bazetta Twp., on Friday, August 25, 2006. She was born on the family farm in Hartford, OH., on November 12, 1932, to the late Anthony Berecek and the late Lena Mikulin Berecek. Violet was a lifetime area resident. She graduated in 1950 from Vienna High School, where she was an outstanding student and involved in basketball, baseball and was the Homecoming Queen of 1950. Following High School, she attended the Youngstown Business School. While working as Contromiter and lead secretary for Youngstown Airways, she met her husband to be, Roger Lee Coe. Violet and Roger were married on January 26, 1953 in Kingsland, Georgia. They purchased property in Bazetta Township where they built their family home. In the years that followed, Violet dedicated herself as a homemaker to her children and husband. Throughout her life she dabbled in small business endeavors, including working as a Realitor for Manchi Reality of Warren, for which she received commendation from then Governor, James Rhodes for outstanding achievement. Later she would take classes at the Kent State University Trumbull Campus where she excelled in English. As a mother and grandmother, she was involved in many facets of her families lives, including the Lakeview Band Boosters and PTA, as well as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church youth group and many memorable family gatherings. Violet was a member of Howland Community Church and was active in the choir. She donated endless hours of service and many delicious pies. An avid gardener, she and Roger created beautiful and bountiful gardens, the fruits of which she shared with many. She enjoyed cooking, and canning. She also excelled at business endeavors and actively traded stocks, never hesitating to embrace the internet revolution. With a gift for the written word, she stayed connected with those near and far. She is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Roger Lee Coe and their five children: Sons, Roger and James Coe of Cortland, and Todd Coe of Maryland. Daughters, Laura Coe Kalogeris of Missouri and Sharon Coe Balzano of New Jersey. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are her sisters, Eleanor Governor of Cortland and Rosemarie Gibson of Arizona, as well as her brothers, Fred Berecek of Gustavus and Jim Berecek of Dayton.
