Violet Mae Crisan

Violet Mae Crisan of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 8:00AM Friday June 12, 2009 at Hospice House in Poland surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old. Ms. Crisan was born on May 13, 1927 in Masury, OH to Nicholas and Anna (Dragucescu) Filipovich Sr.. A 1945 graduate of Brookfield High School, Violet spent the majority of her life as a kind and compassionate caregiver to many people of all ages especially children. She was most affectionately known as "Dood" by those who loved her & the children that she cared for. She will be most remembered for her strong spirit & pleasant smile and as a loving mother and grandmother. When not caring for others, Violet enjoyed reading, swimming, walking, gardening, and loved to feed & watch the birds. She was also famous for her cooking and baking skills, especially her nut rolls & ricotta cheese rolls that were holiday favorites that everyone would look forward to enjoying. Violet was of the catholic faith and had attended Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, Pa for many years. Ms. Crisan is survived by her two sons Stephen Crisan and his wife Bonnie of Pickerington, OH and Michael Crisan and his wife Laurie of Poland, OH; her daughter Linda Livingston of Hubbard, OH; six grandchildren Merielle, Ryan, Travis, Joelle, Emily, and Rachelle; two brothers Charles Filipovich of Masury, OH and John Filipovich of Boardman, OH. She is also survived as well by some very special nieces & nephews that are too numerous to name She was preceded in death by her parents, by her four brothers Joseph, Rudolph, Nick, and Stephen Filipovich, and by her sister Helen Crisan. Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 4-6 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel, Brookfield, Ohio where a Funeral Services will begin at 6:00PM. Burial will be at Brookfield Township Cemetery. The family also suggests that contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to the Brookfield Library.
