Virginia Jeanette Davis

Virginia Jeanette Davis, 89 of Warren, died Sunday evening, January 4, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born March 24, 1925 in Warren, the daughter of the late William and Jeanette Herche Miller. She had been a lifetime Warren resident. Virginia was a 1943 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She worked for Adams Insurance Agency and Brainard Strapping before working for 20 years as a braider at Packard Electric Corp., retiring in 1982. Virginia was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the CCL. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed gambling and the slot machines at Mountaineer and Atlantic City casinos. Her husband of 56 years, James Leonard Davis Sr., whom she married October 16, 1948 preceded her in death October 17, 2004. One brother, William E. Miller and one sister, Mary E. Miller have also preceded in death. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Davis of Champion, Cynthia S. Davis of Bazetta and Claudia J. (Harry) Bell of Howland; two sons, James L. (Diane) Davis Jr. of Wadsworth and Philip (Gordana) Davis of Cortland; eight grandchildren, Jason (Holly) Davis, Tasha (fiance, Dave Gebhart) Davis, Michael Davis, Erik Davis, Daniel Palmer, Rachael DAvis, Jacob Payton and Philip Davis Jr.; two great granddaughters, Kayla and Annabelle Davis and one niece, Christine Carderelli of Newton Falls. Virginia also has many special friends at the Waterstone Apartments. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Vargo and also the staff of Shepherd of the Valley in Niles, especially the 2nd floor assisted living staff, for their compassionate and loving care. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren and also one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren with Pastor David Conrad officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
