Vivian C. Laird

Vivian C. Laird formerly of Girard passed away early Tuesday morning at Austinwoods Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born May 24, 1929 in Altoona, PA a daughter of the late Louis M. and Alice Kaufman Brumbaugh. Vivian was the Past President and lifetime member of the American Legion Post #235 in Girard. She had many hobbies, but especially loved crocheting. Her husband Merrill B. Laird, whom she married January 11, 1947, passed away September 19, 1984. Vivian is survived by her two children: Charles (Judy) Laird of Austintown and Mrs. Brenda and the late Thomas O’Neil of Girard; one sister Carol Musselman of Bedford, PA; one brother Louis Brumbaugh of North Lima; and two grandchildren: Dorothy O’Neil-Meleski (George) of Lake Milton and Marie L. Laird of Austintown. Besides her parents and husband, two sisters Margaret Helsel and Noami Woomer precede Vivian in death. Friends may call from 11:30 AM until noon Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will be held at noon.
