A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Thursday at Canfield United Methodist Church for W. Burton Bryan, 80, of Canfield who passed away Sunday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Burton was born July 31, 1926 in Montezuma, Iowa to Harold and Ida (Wells) Bryan. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, the former Helen Braden, two sons; B. David (Jeanne) of Newmarket NH, and John B. (Sherri) of Chagrin Falls OH, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lathel. Mr. Bryan served in the artillery in WWII, following which he graduated from the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa School of Law. The bulk of his career was spent with the firm of Ernst and Young where he was a tax partner. Following his retirement, Mr. Bryan served as Clerk-Treasurer of Canfield Township for 11 Years. Mr. Bryan was active in and served in various capacities with Canfield United Methodist Church, United Way, the Youngstown Club, and the Rotary and Boys and Girls Clubs of Youngstown. Family and friends may call from 11 AM until the time of services at the Canfield United Methodist Church. Those wishing to make material tributes may make donations to the Church or the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown. Arrangements are by the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
