Walter G. Nagy, Jr., of Masury, Ohio, died on Friday (11-7-2008) under the care of Hospice of Valley, following an extended illness. He was 62. Mr. Nagy was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on January 25, 1946, a son of Walter G. and Antoinette (Klester) Nagy, Sr. A 1964 graduate from Brookfield High School, Walt went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy as an Seaman (E-3). during the Vietnam Conflict. His decorations and citations include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Walt retired from WCI Steel, Warren, Ohio, in 2001 after 36 years as a Train Engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. Survivors include: his children, Randy Nagy, Carolina Beach, NC, Walt R. Nagy, Masury, OH, and Cherry Dorfi, Mercer, PA; his step-son, James Canon, Sharpsville, PA; his brother, Robert "Butch" Nagy, Masury, OH; his seven grandchildren; and his companion, Karen Pop, Brookfield, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his sister, Cookie Nagy. In accordance with his wishes, a private gathering was held Sunday (11-9-2008) for his family & friends at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, Brookfield, Ohio.
