Walter R. Brown Sr.

Mecca Walter R. Brown Sr., 75, passed away at his home and went to be with his Lord, with his wife by his side Tuesday night, December 24, 2013. He was born in Greensboro, PA, a son of Theodore Arlington Brown and Margaret Anne (Kirchner) Brown. Walter was a loving husband, father, and Pop who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, wood working, and was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. Walter was also a lifetime member of Trumbull Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his wife Evelyn S. (Krutko) Brown, whom he married on June 6, 1959; his four children, Walter Brown Jr. of California, Debra Cleland of Niles, James (Robin) Brown of Hollidaysburg, PA, and David R. (Ruthanne) Brown of Cortland; four grandchildren, Rose and Madalyn Brown of Hollidaysburg, PA, and Leanne and David Brown of Cortland; one brother Harry Brown of Bobtown, Pa, one sister Joyce (George) Lee of Burghill, OH; and two beloved cats Blossom and Reese. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers William and Theodore Brown; and one sister Juanita Peluso. Funeral Services for Walter will be held at Prince of Peace Church in Cortland, Oh on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 11:30AM. Friends may call Friday December 27, 2013 at Lane Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel at 164 N. High Street in Cortland, from 6-8:00PM and on Saturday December 28, 2013 from 10-11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
