Wanneta F. Ruth

Wanneta F. Ruth, age 91, of Johnston Twp., died on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the TriPoint Medical Center in Concord, Ohio. She was born on October 13, 1918, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of the late W. Floyd Kale and the late Laura M. Applequist Fluck. Wanneta worked as a homemaker and was known for her family gatherings. She was affectionately known as "sweetie" among her family and the staff at Cardinal Woods Nursing Center. Her husband, John W. Ruth, whom she married on December 24, 1959, preceded her in death on May 22, 2010. Wanneta is survived by a son, John R. (Joni) Ruth of Madison, Ohio and a daughter, Coletta "Jean" (John) Myers of Indiana and a sister, Dorothy Holko of Warren, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Wanneta was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Knight and a brother, Eugene Kale. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2010, from 5 PM 6 PM at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland, Ohio. Service will be held at the funeral home at 6 PM Sunday.
