Wayne D. Whitt, Jr.

Wayne D. Whitt, Jr. of Niles, passed away at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 with his family by his side in University Hospitals of Cleveland following a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was 39 years old. Wayne was born on October 15, 1971 in Warren the son of Wayne D. Sr. and Patricia A. (Malcomson) Whitt and was a 1990 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Wayne was currently working for TMK IPSCO in Brookfield and was formerly a Mahoning County Sheriff Deputy. He enjoyed MUI TAI fighting and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed football and was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Wayne was also an avid Fantasy Football participant. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his wife the former Megan R. Williams whom he married on May 1, 2010; a daughter Kaylee Patricia and a soon to born daughter Allyson Wayne; his father Wayne D. Whitt Sr. of Niles; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Terry and Debbie Williams of Cortland; three brothers Ryan (Cassandra Isaac) Whitt, Mark Whitt and Doug Whitt all of Niles; three sisters-in-laws Heather (Steve) Dull of Howland, Amy (Ron) Kensky of Cortland and Amanda (Jay) Hall of Howland, many nieces and nephews and by a host of friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia. Calling hours will take place on Sunday afternoon from 1-3pm and 5-7pm in the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel, 415 Robbins Ave, Niles. A Service celebrating Wayne�s life will take place on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Niles City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Wayne's name to either University Hospitals of Cleveland or to the American Cancer Society.
