Willaim Edward Schumacher

August 15, 1925 — April 7, 2005

William Edward Schumacher of Hartford, OH, died at 11:13 AM Thursday at Sharon Regional Hospital. He was 79. Mr. Schumacher was born in Sharon, PA on Aug. 15, 1925, a son of Henry and Amelia Rung Schumacher. He was a 1944 graduate of Sharon High School. Mr. Schumacher served during World War II on the USS Mingo Submarine which was stationed in the South Pacific. William was an agent for Nation Wide Insurance for over 19 years. Following his employment with Nation Wide he worked for Snyder Olds Pontiac in Grove City, PA until his retirement in 2004. Survivors include: His wife Gladys Martin Schumacher, whom he married Feb. of 1947; 8 children, Doris Schumacher of Niles, OH, William Jr. and his wife Michelle Schumacher of Rifle, Colorado, Martin Schumacher of San Diego, CA, Kevin and his wife Darlene Schumacher of Arvada, CO, David and his wife Cheryl Schumacher of Aurora, CO, Wesley Schumacher who resides at home, Craig Schumacher and his wife Lisa Schumacher of Austintown, OH, and Paul Schumacher who resides at home; 1 brother Harold and his wife Joanne Schumacher of Sharon, PA; 3 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his Parents; 1 brother Henry Schumacher; 1 sister Amelia Caldwell. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. James M. Seeley, of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, PA. Calling hours will be from 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
