William A Moorhead

William A. Moorhead -- 85 Youngstown—Services will be 9:30 AM Monday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and 10 AM in Mahoning United Methodist Church for William A. Moorhead 85 of Youngstown who passed away Thursday afternoon at his home. Bill was born October 13,1918 in Harrisburg, PA. a son of Frank W. and Martha V. (Kepner) Moorhead. He was a 1937 graduate of New Castle High School and worked in the Engineering department of Ohio Bell for 44 Years retiring in 1983. Bill was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church, Masonic Meander Lodge #765 where he was a 32nd degree mason, Scottish rite, Great Chatterbox Club, and Telephone Pioneers where he was a past president. He Served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps for 8 Years and was a survivor of the Japanese assault on the Okinawa Yon Tan airfield during WWII. Bill was also an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 45 for 15 years, and also a longtime member and past councilman for Holliday Camp Lands. Bill is survived by his family whom he loved wife Grace whom he married April 19,1947, four sons W. Brent (Moose) (Carolyn) and John E. both of Youngstown, Mark W. (Eileen) of Uniontown and Frank C. (Lori) of Hartville a daughter Marcia Lynn (Al) Sauline of Hubbard, one brother Frank of Houston, TX., a sister Martha Lauer of North Hills, Pittsburgh, PA. He also leaves 7 grandchildren: Brent, Melissa, Mark, Kelly, Joshua, Stacey Moorhead, and Al Sauline III and a great-granddaughter Emma Marie Moorhead.
