William C. Spowart, Jr.

Niles- Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home-Niles Chapel for William C. Spowart, Jr. age 84 of Niles who died Friday morning in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Bill was born Sept. 7, 1924 in Niles and was the son of the late William Sr. and Jessie Elizabeth (Davis) Spowart. He retired after 43 years from Conrail where he had worked in signal maintenance. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Niles and a 1942 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He was an avid bowler and golfer belonging to many of the church leagues and had served in the U.S Army during WWII. Bill is survived by his wife the former Norma Thompson whom he married April 26, 1947. He leave five children Cheryl Spowart of Liberty, Darla Reiner of Niles, Denise (Bill) Davis of Struthers, Bill (Linda) Spowart III of Liberty and Shawn Spowart of Niles. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elizabeth Lynn and Marie Ann. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Monday evening and from 10-11 AM Tuesday prior to the services.
