AUSTINTOWN- William "Bill" C. Sweeney, 90, passed away on January 10, 2014. Bill was born in Grassy Meadows, W.V. to the late William Sr. and Nora Sweeney. Bill was a World War II Army veteran that served in the 736 Tank Battalion. He then worked as a welder for Wean Industries before retiring in 1982. Bill will also be remembered for his involvement in Lake Milton Baptist Temple, Pleasant Valley Church and Crossroads Church. He also was an expert handyman, and a loving husband to his wife, Juanita, for 63 years. Left to mourn Bills passing is his wife, Juanita Sweeney of Austintown; his children, Keith (Kathy) Sweeney of Hot Spring, VA, Tammi (Dennis) Moore of St. Inigoes, MD, and Lisa Crissman of Hubbard, OH; his 12 grandchildren; and his 15 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Michael Sweeney, and his sister, Mollie Anderson. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14 from 5PM-8PM at Crossroads Church, 554 S. Meridian Rd. Youngstown, OH, and on January 15, from 10AM-11AM, where a funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will take place at Brunstetter Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Bill's memory to either Crossroads Church, or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
