William Cowden

Austintown William Cowden, 80, of Austintown, passed away earlier this week at his home. Mr. Cowden was born May 1,1923 in Coitsville, a son of Louis and Martha Cowden, and was a longtime resident of Coitsville moving to Austintown in 1981. William retired from Speedway as a manager in early 90’s. Prior to his employment with Speedway he was self-employed within the industry. He was a member of Coitsville Presbyterian Church, and a long time member of the East Suburban Optimist Club. William was also a Coitsville Township Trustee for 16 years. His wife the former Susanna Haus, whom he married October 31, 1959, passed away in September 1997. He is survived by a daughter; Lenore (Dave) Mullins and 4 grandchildren; Matthew, Chad, Heather, and David Jr. all of Austintown. Besides his wife William is preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert and John. There are no calling hours or services. Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home.
