William D. Clarke

There will be a funeral service 11 AM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel with Rev. Burl Jernigan officiating for William D. Clarke of Austintown who passed away at Humility House. He was born Sept 14, 1920 in Youngstown a son of the late William J. and Julia Kennedy Clarke. He retired in 1982 from Wean United as a draftsman. He was a 60 year member of the Western Star Masonic Lodge, a member of the Liberty Senior Citizens, serving as Past President, and was a guitarist with the Bill Warner Band. William served as Technical Sergeant in World War II in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife the former Marion Price, whom he married May 16, 1948; four children: Janice Watson of South Euclid, Marsha (Ron) Knight of Canfield, William A. (Peggy) Clarke of Gladewater, TX, and Craig D. Clarke of Salem; and eight grandchildren: Bill (Brenda) Watson, Jim Watson, Tom Watson, Ron Knight, Alison Knight, Jacci (Brian) Bickerdike, Bill Clarke, and Jenny Clarke. Besides his parents, William is preceded in death by a sister Ruth Wissinger. Friends may call from 3-5 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 182038 Dept 013, Columbus, OH 43218, in William’s name.
