William D Haller

William "Bill" D. Haller, age 83, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Bill was born on February 28, 1930 in Brookfield, Ohio to the late Mildred B. (Baldwin) Haller and John L. Haller. Bill graduated from Brookfield High School in 1947 and graduated from Youngstown State University in 1969 with a BS in Business Administration. On July 3, 1958 Bill married his loving wife, Betty J. (Morris) Haller. Bill was a lifetime area resident and had worked for Van Huffel Tube, HK Porter and retired from Alcan aluminum in 1986. Bill was a member of Howland Community Church for over 50 years having served as President of the Congregation, Chairman of Deacons, Chairman of Elders, Stewardship Chairman, was a part of the Choir and numerous committees. He was also a former member of 1st Methodist Church of Warren and Brookfield Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed golfing and wintering in Florida and was part of the Lake Fairways Mens Corale. William is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty J. (Morris) Haller; daughter, Rev. Pamela S. Haller of New York, NY and one niece, Michelle Haller Blake of San Antonio, Texas. William was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John "Jack" Haller. Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Howland Community Church at 10:30am, with the Reverend L. Cean Wilson, friend of the family, officiating. Calling hours will be held the night before, on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel (180 Garfield Drive) from 5:00-7:00pm and on Friday at the church before the service, starting 9:30am.
