William H. "Billy" Butts Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for William H. "Billy" Butts of Canfield who died Thursday afternoon at Northside Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack. Billy was born January 26, 1944 in Cleveland, a son of the late Howard G. and Mary Edith Malloy Butts and came to this area as a child. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and had retired from General Motors after 32 years. Billy was a member of the Greenford Christian church, the Argus Lodge #545 F. & A.M., and the Aut Mori Grotto. He had been named Mason of the year. He was an avid car mechanic and had built his own 1976 Buick Regal hot rod. He was also an avid Nascar, Cleveland Indian, Cleveland Brown and Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed refurbishing antiques. Billy enjoyed volunteering at the Argus Lodge, whether it was working in the kitchen, cutting the grass, maintenance or whatever needed done. Most of all, Billy enjoyed spending time with his family. He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy Zins, whom he married April 16, 1966; three daughters, Diane L. (Tom) Marki of Salem, Denise L. (Tony) Carkido and Lois M. Slicker both of Canfield; 9 grandchildren, John, Katie, and Sarah Marki, Lex, Zach and Taylor Carkido, Josh, Lauren and Joe Slicker. Besides his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a brother, John Butts. Friends may call on Monday at Lane Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The Masonic Lodge will have a service on Monday at 8:00 p.m.
