Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for William H. Goodlin, 68, who died late Sunday evening at his residence. He was born May 5, 1942 in Cookport, PA, a son of Clayton and Gaye (Berringer) Goodlin. He was a 1960 graduate of Purchase Line High School in Pennsylvania. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1960-64. He worked as a final process inspector at General Motors in Lordstown for 32 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Austintown. He was also a member of the Western Reserve Rifle Club and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Anna L. Fayak, whom he married November 16, 1963. He also leaves behind two daughters; Jane (Robert) Lupean of Indian Trail, NC, and Kelly (Stephen) Cornett of Shalersville; three brothers; James Goodlin of Atwater, Richard Goodlin of Commodore, PA, and Thomas Goodlin of Canfield; three sisters; Joan Hartnett of Corsica, PA, Jean Hankerson of Commodore, and Mary Hankerson; and two grandchildren; Alaina Lupean and Jared Cornett. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lloyd, and a sister Isabelle. Friends may call from 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of The Valley in Bill's memory.
