William H. Ostrowski

William H. Ostrowski, age 70, of Cortland, died suddenly of a coronary on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on August 21, 1940 in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Henry Ostrowski and the late Anne Homitz Ostrowski. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland. He was a CPA and had taught accounting at Kent State Trumbull Campus for 25 years. He enjoyed playing Pickle Ball, solving crossword puzzles and reading. Bill also enjoyed traveling, fishing and was a history buff. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cleveland sports fan as well as an Ohio State Buckeye fan. Mostly, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife, Darlene Baker Ostrowski whom he married on June 19, 1965; son, Michael (Delicia) Ostrowski of Westlake, OH and a daughter, Karen (Darek) Fiut of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, William, Jacob and Liana Ostrowski. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Noble. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 10:00am 11:30am at St. Roberts Catholic Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.
