William J. Otte

June 28, 1916 — March 5, 2003

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Sat at St. Andrews Episcopal Church for William J. Otte of Canfield who died Wed. evening at his residence. Mr. Otte was born June 28, 1916 in Springfield Ohio the son of Paul A. and Mary (Murphy) Otte. He was employed in the meter department for Ohio Edison retiring in 1978 after 44 years. He was very active in the United Electrical Workers Union Local 118, serving as treasurer for many years. Mr. Otte was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church where he was a member of the vestry and served on the building committee of the church. He was a member of the Canfield Ruritan Club, Chatterbox Club, and served on the Canfield Board of Appeals 1991-1996. He was a WWII Army Veteran receiving the Occupational Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. Mr. Otte is survived by his wife Juanita Morgan Otte whom he married Nov. 18, 1947, two daughters JoAnn Kaschak of Canfield, Margaret Stevens of Uniontown OH, two brothers Jack M. Otte and Philip F. Otte both of Vienna OH. He also is survived by three grandchildren Lynnita Kaschak-Himes, Michael W. Kaschak, Megan J. Stevens-Hernandez , three great grandchildren and his neighbor and caregiver Wanda Fromwiller-Justice. He was preceeded in death by two brothers Fredrick N. and Richard Otte. Friends may call from 10AM until time of services Sat at the church. The family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the church memorial fund or the Alzheimer’s Association Canfield Branch.
