William Joseph Surdakowski

William Joseph "Bill" Surdakowski, age 74, of Mecca, Ohio, died at his home on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 8:10 PM. He was born on January 14, 1939 in Ellenville, New York, the son of the late Henry and Hildegard Dierkes Surdakowski. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Engineering. Bill was an honorably discharged US Navy Veteran, serving during peacetime. Bill was retired from Packard Electric after 35 years of service as an Engineer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his two daughters, Rebecca A. (Mark) Gluzman of Pittsburgh, PA, and Beth C. Surdakowski of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, Joseph Gluzman and Meghan Gluzman; and one sister, Irene (Donald) O'Connell of Sarasota, FL. Other than his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elise Noonan on April 16, 2012, they were united in marriage on October 25, 1966. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Father J.
