William L. Kirila, Sr.

William L. Kirila, Sr. of 529 Bedford Rd., Brookfield, Ohio, died on Friday (6-23-2006) at home surrounded by his family, after an extended illness. He was 68.

Mr. Kirila was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on November 30, 1937, a son of George J. Kirila, Sr. and Ann (Yourga) Kirila.

A 1955 graduate from Brookfield High School, Bill was a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury.

Bill was the Vice President of Kirila Contractors, Brookfield, having worked in the family business since 1958. He was also a part owner of Sharon Speedway, Hartford.

One of the most important aspects of Bill’s life was that he instilled hard work and dedication along with strong family values onto his children. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and lived as an example of the true meaning of family.

Survivors include: wife, Gloria J. (Spinner) Kirila, whom he married November 30, 1973; son, William L. Kirila, Jr., Cortland, Ohio; daughters, Gina Kirila, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Tiffany Kirila, Boca Raton, Florida; and brothers, George J. Kirila, Jr. and Ronald Kirila, both of Brookfield; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Gene L. Kirila.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church, concelebrated by Rev. John Lody, Pastor, and Mnsr. Salvatore P. Mitchell, retired. Calling hours will be Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be Brookfield Township Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or an alternate suggestion is to the Hospice of the Valley.
