Willis J. Simpson, 42, of Mercer, PA formerly of Warren died at 4:00 PM Friday April 27, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA following a sudden illness. He was born April 19, 1965 in Trainer, PA the son of James and Anna (Nickles) Simpson Sr. An area resident for most of his life he graduated from Niles McKinley High School. He was an avid sports fan, and coached Little League baseball for the Warren Burbank League. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo, video games, strat baseball and football, and wrestling. His favorite teams were the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bears, and the Cleveland Indians. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents Fred Simpson and Jessie Simpson King and Willis and Eleanor Nickles. Survivors include his father James Simpson Sr. of Warren, a brother James Simpson Jr. and wife Happy of Warren, sisters Joyce Peters and husband Jerry of Mercer, Diane Custer and husband” PeeWee” of Warren, and nieces nephews and cousins: Becky Cole, Justin Giar, Tim and Marlene Horton, Melissa and Danny Jones, Robert Horton, Adam Horton, Jimmy Dennison, Carmella Huff, William Davis, Bryan Davis and Barb Davis. He also leaves 7 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday May 2, 2007 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 6:00-9:00 PM Tuesday.
