Winona E. Schwager

WINONA E. SCHWAGER Mineral Ridge-- A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Luke's Church 5235 South Ave. for Winona E. Schwager, 81, who died Saturday evening, January 5 at Hospice House. Mrs. Schwager was born November 3, 1931 in DuBois, PA., a daughter of Robert W. and Marguerite Schaffer Rowland. She was a 1949 graduate of DuBois High School. Winnie was a waitress for over 25 years. She worked at popular area restaurants which included Howard Johnsons, the Captains' Table at the Ramada Inn, and Abruzzi's Caf 422. She retired in 1992. Winnie was of the Protestant Faith. Her life was centered on service for family and others. She delighted in being a wife and mother and loved to bake for her family. She leaves her husband of 38 years, William J. Schwager, whom she married November 29, 1974; her daughter, Dawn Marie (Donald) Richard of Austintown; her step-daughter, Linda S. (Larry) McClure of Struthers; her son, Robert (Connie) VanHouten of Avon Lake, OH; her step-son, David W. (Sara) Schwager of Kettering, OH; her grandchildren, Matt, Beth Anne, Dan, Hannah, and Sam; and her great grandson, Zack. Her sister, Vivien J. Rowland Brown is deceased. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514 or Hope House, 9018 Easton Ave., Cleveland, OH 44104.
