A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Monday in St James Church in North Jackson for Albert J. Mohr Jr., 64, of North Jackson who passed away Thursday morning surrounded by his loved ones, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a three year battle with cancer. Al was born February 25, 1944 in Passa Robles CA, the son of Albert J. Sr. and Helen (Shandor) Mohr. He was a graduate of Wilson High School class of 1962, and retired from General Motors Lordstown where he was a material handler. He was also a member of the church, and was very active within the church; he was active with the Men's Club, past president of the parish counsel, and on the building committee for the current church. Al was also an avid reader, enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and fishing. He also enjoyed carpentry and wood working. Besides his parents of Youngstown, Al leaves his wife of 40 years the former Mary Ellen Siembieda, whom he married April 20, 1968. Al also leaves four children; Annemarie (Donald) Brown of Los Alamos NM., Stephen (Lynne) Mohr of Austintown, Jennifer (Steve) Pleasnick of Woodville OH, and Tracey (Christopher) Porter of Royal Oak MI, two sisters; Barbara (David) Beebe of Canton, and Evelyn (John "Butch") Mihin of Canfield, as well as five grandchildren; Zachery, Mikaela, Megan Brown all of Los Alamos NM, Joy Mohr of Austintown, and Addison Pleasnick of Woodville. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where closing prayers will be held at 9:45 AM Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund, in Al's name.
