AUSTINTOWN- Bernard Hamlin, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was born on November 2, 1928 in Chesapeake, OH, son to the late Earl and Alberta (Henson) Hamlin Bernard was an U.S. Army Veteran that served in the Korean War. He was formerly of Huntington, WV where he worked as an auctioneer before moving to Austintown in 1970. In October of 1953, Bernard married the former Doris Jean Adkins. Bernard worked as a supervisor at Borden Dairy for over 40 years before retiring in 1992. After his retirement, Bernard enjoyed spending time at flea markets, and going to the races at Mountaineer. Bernard loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren. Left to mourn Bernard's passing is his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Jean Hamlin; his children, Sherry Riley, Mark (Candy) Hamlin, and Kim (Jeff) Lawrence; his grandchildren, Mark Jared Hamlin and Hannah Lawrence; his great-grandson, Conner; and his brother Ralph (Mary) Hamlin. In addition to his parents, Bernard is preceded in death by his brother, Forrest "Hob" Hamlin, his sisters, Dorothy Christian and Shirley Ann Hamlin, and his son-in-law, Tim Riley. Graveside services will take place on Monday, June 22 at Getaway Cemetery in Chesapeake, OH at 2:30PM.
